We are seeking an experienced solicitor with 2-3 years’ post-qualification experience to join our firm.
This role will involve day-to-day carriage and management of a variety of matters such as commercial disputes (large and small) and other complex litigation matters. Responsibilities will include:

- Taking instructions from clients and communicating effectively;
- Drafting correspondence to clients or to the opposing side;
- Advising clients in relation to their legal rights, obligations, strategies and prospects;
- Undertaking legal research;
- Facilitation of settlement negotiations;
- Preparation and appearance at court for directions, including preparation of evidence for final hearings; and
- Adhering to court directed timetables.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will be a bright, switched-on and motivated solicitor with a minimum of 2 years’ post qualification experience in commercial litigation.

The Firm
Kerrs is a commercial law firm with two offices in Sydney’s CBD and one office in Adelaide CBD. Our Sydney offices include a premium-grade office located in the prestigious Darling Park Towers and an A-grade office located on Pitt Street. The Role
The majority of files will be complex commercial litigation matters in the Supreme and Federal Court jurisdictions with additional exposure to insolvency matters and property transactions. As a Law Clerk with us, you will have the opportunity to:
- Work closely with leading solicitors across the firm;
- Prepare legal documents such as pleadings and affidavits;
- Prepare correspondence to clients or opposing parties;
- Undertake legal research;
- Assist with preparation of briefs to counsel and experts;
- Assist with discovery;
- Attend settlement negotiations;
- Assist with preparation for court appearances and hearings, including preparation of documentation including court and authority bundles;
- Assist with diary and task management; and

We are looking for a full time Office Manager who will also act as an Executive Assistant to one of our two directors. We are seeking a confident and motivated candidate to help organise our legal practice as we grow and to provide our solicitors with administrative support. This will be a busy role with plenty of variety and responsibility.
The Firm

Both offices offer a central, accessible location, and excellent facilities.
We specialise in litigation, insolvency (corporate and personal), restructuring, dispute resolution, property and employment law.
The Role
The ideal candidate will proactively manage our office needs and take the initiative to keep our operations running smoothly. This person will maintain a steady and consistent presence in the office and will be the first point of call for anything office related.
The role will include a large variety of duties but may include:
- Creating, updating, and implementing firm policies and procedures (and making improvements where required);
- Management of practice and document systems to ensure the smooth running of files/matters;
- Updating and assisting with management reporting;
- Client reporting (including assisting with cultivating and managing client relationships);
- Firm and trust account payables and receivables, including reconciliation;
- Entering credits and debits into our legal software, Actionstep;
- Provision of IT and administration support to the three offices;
- Management of HR issues, including induction and training of new employees;
- External website and intranet development, including social media management;
- Manage CPD, and other regulatory requirements;
- Manage suppliers, including ensuring stationery and office supplies are stocked for the three offices;
- Offer support with legal projects;
- Organising events;
- Attend to any other office-related problems or requirements; and
- Ad hoc administrative tasks.
